Mr Cowl

Mr Cowl
Here’s Mr Cowl – another project to use up surplus yarn (from my Ultra Vest). The pattern is free on from Ravelry. I am rather pleased with depleting left over yarn that has started to build up. Mr Cowl is a practical kind of gear for keeping your neck warm without the sometimes inconvenient scarf hanging around, especially if you have to carry small boys about.

Very nice! I am eyeing up lots of cowl patterns on ravelry to use up end yarn and also to practice interesting stitches but on a small project. I was thinking the weather here was getting a bit warn for a knitted cowl but it is back down to 10 degrees again so one might be perfect for cycling. Possible patterns:

Yes, this pattern is a good one for big needles and simple stitches. Children’s clothes is another good way of using up yarn. And how about hats, like this one http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/borealis-button-hat?
